School of Governance, Risk and Compliance

The School of Governance, Risk & Compliance trains specialists and managers in Governance, Risk, Compliance & Fraud Management as part of its internationally geared Master of Business Administration degree. The aim of the master’s is to provide a high quality, practice-oriented curriculum on management and control systems and help participants establish new networks.

Governance, risk, compliance and fraud management are set to be on the agendas of many companies – and their ability to introduce effective, carefully matched strategies will dictate their long-term success. Companies in all sectors of industry will need to check precisely whether they have the skills and resources to meet the legal and regulatory demands of an increasingly fast-moving, globalizing world of business. The part-time MBA in Governance, Risk, Compliance & Fraud Management provides managers working in all sectors of industry with the interdisciplinary skills and specialist knowledge their companies require in business, economics, law and social sciences, plus all prerequisites of modern management.

In addition to the MBA degree, students on the two-year postgraduate degree can gain certification as a “Risk & Fraud Consultant” or “Compliance Consultant” as part of their individual options. Students with no previous state-approved university degree can also participate in the two-year program with no further registration or academic requirements. They then focus solely on the “Risk & Fraud Consultant” or “Compliance Consultant” qualification.

As part of their master’s thesis, student choose from a variety of management options centering on governance, risk, compliance and fraud management at the company where they work. School GRC places an emphasis on sensitizing students to the overlaps between the four areas, as they have a constant bearing on one another. The program also includes seminars outside Germany. Projects at participants’ companies are a core transfer instrument used by the program and an excellent opportunity to apply the very latest academic insights to a live problem. Overall, this allows the senior managers of tomorrow to dovetail theory closely with everyday practice.
