The recognition of credits already earned is regulated in the general study and examination regulations. Academic and examination achievements, as well as degrees obtained in study programs at other state or state-approved universities and vocational academies in the Federal Republic of Germany, or in study programs at foreign state or state-approved universities, will be recognized, provided that there is no significant difference in the acquired competencies compared to the achievements or degrees they replace. Proof of knowledge and skills acquired outside the higher education system may be recognized on a case-by-case basis, provided that their equivalence in terms of study content, academic performance (workload), and proof of achievement with the study module of the present degree program has been established.
